Regulator is equipped with internal relief valve (IRV) meeting the National Fuel Gas Codes requirements for downstream over pressure protection for inlet pressures exceeding 2 psig.  If installed indoors the regulator should be vented outside by removing the wire screen over the vent opening and piping its 1 inch vent outside per code.
Regulator is also corrosion resistant with powder coated surfaces for outdoor installations.  The regulator may be mounted in any orientation, vertical or horizontal, as long as the stem is not pointing down.  If installed outdoors the regulator vent should be oriented downward to prevent rain or snow entering the vent by removing the two screws that attach the regulator top to its bottom and rotating the top to realign with the other two bolt holes. A 90 elbow can also be piped into the vent if it is desired to keep the regulator horizontal. Just reinstall the wire screen into the pipe fitting to prevent insects from entering.
